Getting Puritanical Over Botanicals

We love all the botanical herbs and plants that naturally benefit our skin and overall health. In fact, we use botanicals in as many of our formulations as possible! So, let's take a look at which ones help us look and feel great!

Aloe Vera: One of the most popular natural ingredients that's been used for thousands of years and found in hundreds of skincare products, this succulent plant juice features amazing anti-inflammatory properties and hydrating properties. It is excellent for soothing and moisturizing your skin. You can find it in our Hivessence Advanced Eye Serum.

Chamomile: When we think of Chamomile, we often think of it as one of our favorite relaxing night time teas. But it's also a calming botanical for our skin that can help to reduce redness and irritation. It's also great for skin that's sensitive to other ingredients. Find Chamomile in our personal favorite product, Hivessence Pro Repair Serum

Green Tea: Yes! It's another tea favorite, especially in the morning! Green tea is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that can help to reduce inflammation, redness, and irritation for all skin types. We blend it in both our Hivessence Fresh Tea Face Mist and Hivessence Brightening Face Serum.

Lavender: One of the most favorite smells in the world, Lavender is a fragrant herb that is also antiseptic and anti-inflammatory. These properties help in creating a minty, calming sensation and even aid in healing our skin. Find it in our Hivessence Citrus Lavender Soap and another Instagram favorite, Hivessence Lavender Sleep Mask.

Jojoba: Jojoba is a type of nut found in the Southwestern U.S. states and is used mostly as an oil that is added as a natural moisturizer to many skincare products. It's main benefits are contributing to the natural balance of our skin's oils and moisture along with reducing inflammation. Many report that it helps with acne and psoriasis and even a light sunburn. It's blended into our wildly popular Hivessence Exfoliating Face Scrub.

Honey: Okay, you didn't think we were going to forget Honey, did you? :) Our whole reason for starting Hivessence is based in the remarkable nutritional and healing mysteries of honeybee hive products. From honey to royal jelly and bee pollen, to propolis and even bee venom, those compounds from bees have been used for thousands of years with health benefits too numerous to name here. Honey has antibacterial properties that can help to fight acne and even heal wounds. It's also a natural humectant, which means that it helps to draw moisture into the skin. Plus, honey is one of the few ingredients that doesn't go bad. Find honey bee hive products formulated into many of our self-care items. A favorite is our Hivessence Honey Shea Oatmeal Soap. Enjoy and have a wonderful botanical experience everyday! :)
